Raider boys take down Falcons

In an interview last week, Lake Park-Audubon head coach Kyle Haberman noted the Raiders needed to spread scoring around to make a push to the postseason. LP-A did just that Monday night getting scoring in double figures from three players in a 59-50 over Fertile-Beltrami in a Pine to Prairie Conference game at Audubon.

The two teams met in the season opener with the Falcons winning by 15 points. LP-A had a number of players getting their first varsity action in that game and showed Monday night how much the team has improved.

LP-A led 24-22 at halftime after the Falcons erased a late nine-point deficit.

After two quick exchanges of the lead after the break, LP-A let the entirety of the second half.

Leading scorer Grant Pederson led all shooters with 20 points. Garret Frank added 19 points and Tyler Bjerke scored 11.

The Raiders used the arc to do much of the offensive damage. Frank made a game-high five; Pederson added four. Bjerke made two and Carter Raaen added one for a dozen three-pointers in the game.

Athan McCollum led the Falcons (14-7) with a dozen points.

The Raiders improve to 6-16 and host Norman County West (4-13) Tuesday, Feb. 13.
