Sixth graders capture MIT championship

The Detroit Lakes sixth grade boys basketball team captured the championship of the Pacesetter MIT (Minnesota Invitational Tournament) in Maple Grove Saturday, June 16.

In the opening game of the tournament the Lakers took an 18-0 lead over Paynesville and never looked back, winning 36-19.

DL defeated Pelican Rapids 35-14 in the semifinal round and were victorious over Owatonna 36-25 in the championship game.
