Frazee boy cagers score first 'W' of season

A strong first half paced the Frazee boys' basketball team to its first win of the season with a 65-63 win over visiting Menahga Tuesday.

A 14-point first half lead was keyed by Cory Wokasch's 15 points, as he finished the contest with 25 points, 13 rebounds, three assists and one steal.

The Braves capped the first half with a run of their own to pull to within 38-30 by halftime.

Frazee senior center Dan Janu found himself in foul trouble, but still finished with 13 points, eight rebounds and four assists.

"Zack Ziegler had the five spot for most of the game and controlled the ball well," said Frazee head coach Jason Reierson.

"Cody Nordquist also played excellent defense throughout the game."

Nordquist finished with eight points and five rebounds.

Frazee (1-1) will next host Battle Lake Monday and travel to No. 1 Class 2A ranked Pelican Rapids Tuesday.
