Smith, Huskers smash four school records at Westbrook

Laker graduate Kate Smith posted a school record and career-best round score of 64, and a two-round school record and career-best score of 131 (67-64-131), powering the Nebraska women's golf team to a school record 18-hole team score of 273 and a school record 36-hole team score of 556 (283-273-556) through one day of the Westbrook Invitational.

Smith's 18-hole score of 64 in the second round broke the previous school record of 66 set by Steffi Niesen at the Mountain View Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz. on March 23, 2012. Smith's 36-hole score of 131 smashed the previous record of 136 set by teammate Haley Thiele at the UNLV Collegiate Showdown in Boulder City, Nev. on Oct. 25-26, 2015.

Nebraska's 18-hole score of 273 in the second round shattered Nebraska's previous team school record of 278, previously set by the Huskers at the UNLV Collegiate Showdown on Oct. 25, 2015. The 36-hole score of 556 obliterated the school record of 569 also set at the UNLV Collegiate Showdown on Oct. 25-26, 2015.

Senior Audrey Judd is also in the hunt for a top-five finish, sitting in fifth place after going 70-68-138 (six under par), tying her career-best round score of 68. It marked the third time Judd has posted a 68, and second time during the 2017-18 season. Judd is the defending Westbrook Invitational individual champion.
