Laker girls trail by one heading into final round

The Detroit Lakes girls golf team enters new territory Wednesday trailing for the first time this season after day one of play at the Pequot Lakes Invitational at Crosswoods Golf Course in Crosslake Tuesday, May 1.

Bemidji senior Abbie Kelm and junior Taylor Offerdahl have the Lumberjacks in first place leading by one stroke.

Kelm finished atop the leaderboard with a 74 on Tuesday, while Offerdahl followed closely with a 75.

The Lumberjacks tallied a team score of 324, one stroke ahead of the Lakers’ 325.

The Lakers were led by Maddie Herzog and Shelby Busker, who each carded a 77, while Anna Cihak finished with an 81. McKenna Mallow rounded out the DL scoring foursome with a score of 90.

Final round play begins at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 2.
