Andrisen takes on Renner legend in Super Seniors showdown

CHUCK RENNER - Robert Williams / Tribune1 / 2
DAVID ANDRISEN - Robert Williams / Tribune2 / 2

There has never been a Pine to Palm Super Seniors championship match without the presence of the tournament’s most decorated player Chuck Renner.

This year is no exception as the six-time winner and two-time runner-up goes for a seventh championship.

Renner defeated Paul Krueger 2&1 in a storied rematch of the first Supers championship and many, many others between two guys who are good friends for 51 weeks of the year - just not during the Pine.

In Renner’s way is No. 7 David Andrisen aiming to become only the fourth different title holder in the nine-year history of Supers.

Andrisen defeated Michael Howell 5&3 to advance to become only the seventh different player to make a finals appearance.

The Supers history book will get a unique mark this year regardless of who wins with either a first-time champ or an amazing seven of nine titles for the tournament legend.

Andrisen and Renner start the championship day finals at 11:20 a.m. on hole No. 1.
