Herzog, Busker vie for Cobber Invite title at Wildflower

Former Lakers Maddie Herzog and Sydney Busker recorded the two low rounds at the two-day Wildflower Cobber Invite with Herzog winning by three strokes Sunday, Sept. 9 in her first official appearance for North Dakota State University.

Herzog shot rounds of 78 and 76 to claim the title with a score of 154.

Busker’s St. Catherine University Wildcat team finished in first place for a 36-hole team score of 657 (+81) with Busker clinching second place after shooting 157 (+13).

Herzog played individually as the entire Bison team was not at the event.

The Wildcats finished ahead of other Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference teams, College of Saint Benedict, Univ. of St. Thomas, Macalester College, and Concordia College and the team victory was the seventh in program history and third lowest score among the first place finishes.

Busker's second place finish and 36-hole score of 157 ranks as her third best personal score as a Wildcat and seventh in program history.
