Boys Basketball: DL hoopsters run through W-DC Wolverines 81-56

A balanced attack paced the Detroit Lakes boys’ basketball team to a convincing 81-56 road victory over Mid-State Conference foe Wadena-Deer Creek Tuesday.

The Lakers (2-2) had four players scoring in double-digits, while owning the boards with 54 rebounds, led by Nick Nordmark’s 10 and Ben Hokanson’s nine.

Junior guard Ryan Cihak led the way with 14 points and was followed by Trey Lyngaas’ 13, while each of Christian Hedstrom and Hokanson had 11 points.

The Lakers lost their first Mid-State game last Friday, falling to Crosby-Ironton 60-39.

DL will be in action at home Friday when they host another conference opponent in Pequot Lakes (3-0), which beat W-DC 68-48 earlier in the season.
