Girls Hockey: West Fargo team snaps DL’s streak

A commanding second period by West Fargo produced two goals and 18 shots on net, as the North Dakota team ended the Detroit Lakes girls’ hockey team’s undefeated streak at four games with a 4-1 win Tuesday.

West Fargo outshot the Lakers by a 40-16 margin, with DL goalie Veronica Badurek picking up 36 saves.

Allison Springer had two goals for West Fargo, while DL picked up an early third period tally, with Randa Larsen scoring on a power play, set up by Emily Seebold.

The Lakers (3-4-2) will travel to Rocori to face the River Lake Stars (7-2-0) Friday, starting at 7:30 p.m.
