The visiting Staples-Motley boys’ basketball team didn’t know where the next Detroit Lakes’ points were going to come from Thursday inside Ralph Anderson Gym, as a dozen different Lakers scored in their convincing 64-44 victory.

Only one Laker notched double digits in the scoring column, with post Trey Lyngaas finishing with 10 points, while guard Corbin Duncan and post Ben Hokanson each had nine points.

From there, nine other Lakers also contributed buckets, while DL owned the boards as well, with 37 total rebounds.

The first half saw the Lakers gain plenty of second opportunities with effective offensive rebounding, which eventually built into a 36-22 halftime advantage.

The second half was all DL as they went on an 11-5 run, capped by a three pointer from Christian Hedstrom to put the Lakers fully in control, 47-27.

The Lakers (6-3) will next play at Bemidji (1-10) Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. start.
