DL’s Fritz named to Senior Classic in girls’ hockey

Laker senior Lexi Fritz was named to the Senior Classic Girls’ Hockey Tournament as a defensive player.

Detroit Lakes’ senior defensive player Lexi Fritz has been selected to participate in the 16th Annual High School Senior Classic, which is sponsored by the Minnesota Girls Hockey Coaches Association.

Fritz was selected by the coaches out of Sections 6-1A and 6-2A.

The Senior Classic will be held Feb. 28-March 2, at the Schwan’s Super Rink in Blaine. Each team will play four regulation high school games over that weekend.

The purpose of the tournament is to give the best senior players in the state an opportunity to showcase their talents in front of Division I and III colleges in the area.

Teams consist of section players, both Class 1A and 2A.

Other Section 6-1A players invited on to play in the Senior Classic, include Fergus Falls defensive player Lauren Norgren and forward Melissa Drown of Alexandria.

The rest of the players are from Section 6-2A.
