Fergus Falls upends DL in Pre-Section meet

The Detroit Lakes boys’ golf team was looking up at Fergus Falls after the Pre-Section meet at the Longbow Golf Course in Walker Wednesday.

The Otters were able to post a mild upset over the Lakers, winning the meet by five strokes after recording a 308 to DL’s 313.

Each of Laker senior Michael Herzog and the Otter’s Keaton Lausch won co-medalist honors after each shot a one-over par 73.

The Laker’s Ben Mallow posted a 77, which was tied for fifth overall.

Other DL scores included Luke Payne with a 79, Tanner Schnathorst with an 81, Christian Hedstrom at 82, Austin Dodd with an 88 and Isaac Cihak carding an 89.

The Lakers will be back in action for the Mid-State Conference tournament, which is Monday at Wadena-Deer Creek, starting at 10 a.m.
