The Detroit Lakes boys golf team finished in sixth place in the 25-team field at the Stillwater Invitational Monday afternoon.

Ben Unruh (76 +4), Isaac Cihak (77 +5), Aaron Schnathorst (81 +9) and Ryan Paskey (84 +12) had scoring rounds totaling 318 strokes to finish a shot above River Falls (319).

Unruh was six shots back of medalist Brady Arnett of St. Thomas who took sole possession of first place with a two-under 70 on the par 72, 6,700-yard course.

Edina won the team tournament with a score of 293, four strokes better than Arnett’s St. Thomas club. The Hornets had three golfers in the top four all shooting near even par: Sam Bergholt (71 -1), Matt McGwire (72 E) and Jack Ebner with a 73 (+1).

Wyatt Blomseth (87 +15) and Collin Ginnaty (88 +16) also competed for the Lakers.

Head Coach Bob Gorden will split squads to compete at both the Jordan Invitational at Ridges at Sand Creek, home of the Class AA state meet, April 21-22 along with the girls team. Assistant Coach Vern Schnathorst will take a second team to Legacy Golf Course in Pequot Lakes April 20-21.
