Online registration for the Lamoureux hockey camps to be held at Kent Freeman Arena in June will close June 5.

Registration after that date for single weeks of the month-long camps will still be available. Drop-ins for vacationing hockey players who happen to be in the area are also welcome.

The coaching staff has been finalized for all four weeks of skating.

“Our staff is going to provide an opportunity for the kids in Detroit Lakes to get quality, high-end coaching,” said Organizer Pierre Lamoureux. “Our camps about providing an opportunity for players to learn and develop and to have fun. They’re going to learn from people who have played and coached at the highest levels.”

Two-time University of North Dakota captain and national champion Gage Ausmus will coach three of the four weeks of camp. Ausmus is one of only four two-time captains at UND in the past quarter-century.

Another of the four is current Philadelphia Flyers Head Coach Dave Hakstol (1990-91, 1991-92). Hakstol, along with former NHLer Dane Jackson, will appear and coach on select days.

Former UND Assistant Captain Bryn Chyzyk, currently playing for the Indy Fuel of the ECHL and Fargo Force Assistant Coach Eli Rosendahl are also on staff.

Rosendahl has run the Hockey Academy at Ralph Engelstad Arena in Grand Forks, where he had been the head coach for the past two years. He has coached in Grand Forks for the past five years as the volunteer goalie coach with the University of North Dakota women’s hockey program and was also the coach of the Hockey Academy Selects pre-season team (Midget AAA).

Former UND goalie and current Colorado Eagle (ECHL) Tate Maris also joins the Lamoureux team of Olympians Monique Lamoureux and Jocelyne Lamoureux and Mario Lamoureux (HC Innsbruck).

“We want to show the community of Detroit Lakes that we are committed to putting out a great product for players to learn and grow,” said Lamoureux.

Local coaches from the PeeWee level to high school will also be taking part.

“It’s going to be an all-around camp for everybody to grow and develop together,” said Lamoureux.
