Lida Greens to hold 17th tournament

The 17th Annual Lake Lida Junior Golf Tournament will be held Sunday, Aug. 12, at the Lida Greens Golf Course, which is located four miles east of Pelican Rapids.

The Lida Greens Junior boys and girls champions are decided through the tournament each year, with Mitch Kochmann of Mahnomen being the defending boys champion.

There hasn't been a girls' champion since 2007, when Erica Clark of Dilworth won the title.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m. with Flight Two, which is for ages 12 and under, in a scramble format of teams of two.

Flight One is for ages 13-17 and will play in teams of two and play best ball. This flight will begin play at 11 a.m. Individual scores of those playing will determine those qualifying for Championship Flight, which will start at 1 p.m. or after Flight One is completed.

The cost is $16 per player and entrants are request to pre-register, but not required.
