Bowling team seventh at state tournament

The Detroit Lakes bowling team placed seventh overall at the state adapted bowling tournament Friday, May 18 at Brunswick Zone in Brooklyn Park.

The team of sophomore Nick Schouviller, freshman Lily Gilbertson, freshman Kaitlyn Ahles and senior Clay King combined to roll a score of 1,599 for the seventh place finish.

Hopkins claimed the CI state title with a score of 1,788.

In the CI Singles Division, Schouviller rolled a two-game score of 442 to place eighth overall and claim a medal-winning spot in the top 10.

Gilbertson and Branch combined for 784 in two doubles matches to finish in the top 20 in 20th place.
