Jiu-Jitsu students grapple for gold

Local students from Detroit Lakes Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (DLBJJ) competed in their first tournament Saturday, July 14 in Minneapolis.

DLBJJ opened this past April under the direction of Professor Diego Da Costa.  

After only three months of training, students made their Jiu-Jitsu competition debut at Minnesota's Largest round robin BJJ Tournament,Grappling Industries-Minneapolis.  

After a long day of round robin matches the DLBJJ team brought home five medals.  

Detroit Lakes Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu meets for classes Monday through Friday at the Detroit Lakes School of Taekwondo & Kumdo.
