Snowshoe-lacing workshop at Buffalo River State Park
Outdoor enthusiasts can ready for the snow by lacing up a their own pair of Ojibwe-style wooden snowshoes at a two-day workshop from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16, and from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 17. Instructors will guide participants step-by-step through the process, or they can work at their own pace.
To register for the workshop and order your size of snowshoes, call 218-498-2124 by Dec. 18. The cost is $70 per pair. Class size is limited to 16 people.
The workshop will take place at the Moorhead State University Regional Science Center, which is adjacent to Buffalo River State Park. To get to the Regional Science Center, take the exit for the park off U.S. Highway 10 (14 miles east of Moorhead) and follow the signs. A map is also available online.
