Two Raiders qualify for Sections
The Lake Park-Audubon boys’ golf team had two advance from the Section 6-1A North Sub-section meet on Thursday, May 23.
Dalton Kohler shot an 86, which was the third best individual score for the northern section, while Chase Wiedmann just made the cut by shooting a 90 at Perham’s Lakeside Golf Course.
Both boys played in the Section tournament last Thursday, with neither making the state cut of 84.
Kohler came in with a score of 93 and Wiedmann was on pace to make the cut until the last few holes.
“On a brighter note though, both will be back next year, as Chase is only a sophomore and Dalton is a junior,” said LP-A head boys’ golf coach Cole Wixo. “We only lose one senior this year, but have a number of boys who we will be working hard and golfing in the Minnesota Junior PGA this summer, including Chase Wiedmann, Sam Whitehead, and Clay Anderson.
“As a team this year, we finished a little lower in the conference than we would have hoped, but losing five seniors last year, we knew we had our work cut out for us.
“We are young and will continue to improve over the summer and hopefully come back stronger next year.”
