Sports Shots column: Detroit Lakes Softball Association to meet

The Detroit Lakes Softball Association will hold its general membership meeting for the 2008 season Monday, May 12, at 6:30 p.m. at the Sandbar.

All teams from all leagues playing at Snappy Park this season should have a representative at the meeting.

Rally for Cure golf event at Wildflower

The third annual Rally for the Cure Golf Event will be hosted by the Wildflower Golf Course Tuesday, June 3, starting at 9 a.m.

The "Rally" is the nation's largest grassroots women's golf program sponsoring breast cancer awareness, along with continuous support by Golf for Women Magazine.

Proceeds are directly donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

The format is a foursome scramble. Entry fees are $70 per golfer, which includes green fees, carts, prizes, wine and cheese on the deck and hamburgers.

Junior Golf program starts June 10

The Detroit Lakes Junior Golf program at Lakeview Executive Course will start June 10.

Interested players who are nine-years-old or older can pick up a registration form at Lakeview Executive Golf Course.

The program runs for six Tuesday mornings and finishes July 21, with a picnic and tournament.

DL basketball camps information

The Detroit Lakes girls' shooting and position basketball camp will be starting May 27, while the boys' basketball camp will begin June 9.

The boys' and girl's camp will be for grades 1-11 (determined by this year's enrollment).
