UCB girls seventh, boys eighth at 6A True Team

The United Clay Becker track teams competed at the Section 6A True Team track and field meet last week in Pelican Rapids. The girls team placed seventh and the boys eighth overall.

The girls were led by Siri Danielson, who placed third in the 100m dash (12.96). Faith Rustad also placed third in the 800m run (2:33.59).

The Badgers had two runners in the top five of the 1,600m run led by Rustad in second place (5:38.06) and Lily Peterson in fourth (5:42.96).

Peterson (12:17.02) and Taytum Nelson (12:23.74) finished third and fourth, respectively, in the 3,200m run.

UCB had a three relay teams place in the top three as the Badgers won the 4x400 (4:12.29), placed second in the 4x200 (1:53.35) and third in the 4x800 (10:52.34).

Maizey Gilbert had the top field finish placing eighth in the discus (88-06.50).

Parker Tjaden (2:09.61) had the lone event victory for either team leading the boys with a win in the 800m. Austin Osland placed third in 2:12.52.

Hunter Magnusson was the 300m hurdles runner-up in a time of 41.97.

The 4x800 relay team placed first in 8:37.37; and both the 4x200 (1:38.38) and 4x400 (3:39.03) teams finished in second place.
