Frazee wrestlers roll West Fargo

No. 2A Frazee opened the home dual season with a convincing 48-18 victory over West Fargo Tuesday night.

Tanner Eischens and Tanner Schermerhorn had early first period pins to lead the Frazee attack.

Eischens, ranked No. 5 in Class A at 160 pounds wrestled up at 170 and recorded the fastest pin of the night in 26 seconds over Mario Husan.

Schermerhorn, No. 2A-126 and last year’s 120-pound state runner-up, wrestled up at 132 and pinned Aaron Magnell in 33 seconds.

Tanner Tapped (285) and Carter Shipman (145) also recorded wins by fall. Tappe stuck Brandon Steinhauer at 2:44; Shipman put Lucas Belinskey down at the end of the first period (1:57).

No. 2A-113, No. 10A-120 Michael Miller both won by decision, as did Ricky Roforth at 152 and Brett Graham at 182.

The Packers scored by way of two falls and two decisions.

Frazee has started the season with a commanding victory at the Unruh in Wahpeton and a blowout in the first dual.

The Hornets look for a second tournament win at the 51st annual Paul​ Bunyan​ Tournament at Brainerd High School Friday and Saturday, Dec. 8-9 against teams from Brainerd, Aitkin, Bemidji, Chisago Lakes, Cloquet, Foley, Grand Rapids, Little Falls, Moorhead, Mound Westonka, Pierz, Staples-Motley, White Bear Lake
