Trista Garcia moved to Detroit Lakes with her seven kids, ages 2-12, about a year ago. Around Christmastime, her family received a generous monetary gift from the local Ruby’s Pantry, which allowed her to buy herself and her children some much-needed winter clothes, coats and shoes. Most people think of Ruby’s Pantry for its food distribution, but the organization also gives a portion of its donations back the communities it serves to help people in need. Marie Johnson / Tribune
