Detroit Lakes musician Mike Hokanson will be one of two featured musical acts at the Community Block Party set for next Saturday, Sept. 3, at The Brew Ale & Eats in Detroit Lakes. A portion of the proceeds from the evening will benefit the Becker County History Museum, wihch is in the midst of a $3.2 million capital campaign for a new building. Also performing that evening will be the Hardwood Trio (Jake Seelye, Dan Thornby and Ben Grimsley).

New Ulm-based musician Dick Kimmel and the Detroit Lakes area’s own Pamela Longtine will perform together when Kimmel presents his program on ‘The History of Bluegrass’ this Friday, April 15 at the Becker County Historical Society & Museum in Detroit Lakes. There will be a 6:30 p.m. social hour followed by the concert at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale at the museum for $15 each, which includes refreshments and light appetizers from La Barista.
