Becker County has been selected to take part in Minnesota's Rural Child Care Innovation Program, which helps communities address their child care struggles and come up with right-sized solutions. The county has been struggling with a serious child care shortage for years.

The Women's ONE-Hundred group of Detroit Lakes brings 100 women together to raise $100 each, or $10,000 total, to help local women and children in need in the community. The group has just made its third donation to the Lakes Crisis and Resource Center, which will use the funds to raise awareness of ACEs in the community, and for support groups directed at children who have had ACEs.
