A photo of a bag of marijuana with the caption “OG Kush on Fleek” was among various pictures of puppies and selfies Wednesday morning. All of the images were open to anyone with a smartphone through Fleek College Stories, a free app that allows users to anonymously post and view images and video grouped by college with no limits and no rules. “I think people genuinely feel it’s anonymous and there are no repercussions for it, but people can screenshot it and it’s dangerous.” UND Student Body President Matt Kopp said.
The University of North Dakota is taking proactive steps to encourage cultural awareness this Halloween. Associate Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion Sandra Mitchell, who began working in the newly created position this summer, published a memo Tuesday reminding the campus community to be mindful of their costume choices this Halloween. “This time of year we do see things on college campuses all over the country. People are struggling to pass the North Dakota bar exam and the University of North Dakota Law School is looking at how to address the problem. The state offers the exam annually in both February and July, and only 56 percent of UND graduates who took the test for the first time this summer passed.
