Former Mankato resident Estelle Veronica Wise, 93, of Crosslake, Minn., died Thursday, April 8, 2010 at St. Mary's Innovis Health in Detroit Lakes. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
Shannon M. Bugge, 35, of Detroit Lakes, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010 as the result of injuries sustained in an accident in Detroit Lakes. Visitation will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, followed by funeral services at 2 p.m., at the David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes. A second memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 14 in First Assembly of God Church, Fargo. The David-Donehower Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Nov. 7, 1937-April 2, 2010 James "Jim" Flanagan, 72, of Detroit Lakes, died Friday, April 2, 2010 with his family at his side, at his new winter residence in Mesa, Ariz. Jim was the oldest of five children born to Francis "Pat" and Margaret (Dorschel) Flanagan on November 3, 1937 in Fond du Lac, Wis. Jim completed his first eight years of school at St. Augustine's Catholic School in Chilton, Wis. After graduation from Chilton High School in 1956, Jim joined the U.S. Army Reserve.
Sept. 27, 1937-April 5, 2010 Ralph F. Lindbom, 90, of Toad Lake Township, Osage, died on Monday, April 5, 2010 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Park Rapids. Services are set for 11 a.m. Friday, April 9 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Snellman. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 8 at the David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.. Interment will be at the Snellman Cemetery. Ralph Frederick Lindbom was born on September 24, 1919 in Shell Lake Township, rural Osage.
Feb. 25, 1924-March 30, 2010 Helen D. Benson, 86, of Moorhead, died Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead. Helen Delphine Faust, daughter of John Albert and Sophie (Bjornstad) Faust, was born on February 25, 1924 in Valley City, N.D., the youngest of four daughters. She was baptized on July 1st, 1924 and confirmed June 6th, 1937 at Nebo Lutheran Church in Valley City.
Former Detroit Lakes and Underwood resident Edna Melvina (Nelson) Dunham, 94, of Fergus Falls, died Sunday, April 4, 2010 at the Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls. Visitation will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 8 with a public prayer service at 6:30 p.m. in Messiah Lutheran Church, rural Underwood, continuing for one hour prior to services Friday at the church. Funeral services are set for 1 p.m. Friday, April 9 at Messiah Lutheran Church, with Rev. William "Bill" Colbeck officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, rural Pelican Rapids.
May 12, 1919-April 4, 2010 Catherine Ann Granger, 90, of Detroit Lakes, died on Sunday, April 4, 2010 at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 11 at the David-Donehower Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 12 in St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Detroit Lakes, with interment at Oak Grove Cemetery in Detroit Lakes. Catherine Ann Greenough was born to Floyd and Frances (Bell) Greenough on May 12, 1919 in Crookston, Minn.
Pelican Rapids native LaVonne H. Murdock, 72, of Brooten, Minn., died Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood, Minn. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 6 at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Brooten and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 7 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Brooten, with Pastor Bryant Kaden officiating. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Brooten. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Brooten.
Kenneth Iver Warling, 53, of Konawa, Iowa, brother of Kathleen Warling, Lake Park, died Wednesday, January 6, 2010 in Konawa. A memorial service is set for 2 p.m. Saturday, April 10 in Lake Park Lutheran Church, Lake Park.
Nov. 28, 1968-March 29, 2010 Waubun area native Dale R. Bentley, 41, of Buffalo, N.D., died Monday, March 29, 2010 at Fairview University Hospital, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. A celebration of Dale's life is set for 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 7 at the Historic Fargo Theatre, 314 Broadway North, Fargo. Visitation will be held at the Fargo Theatre one hour prior to services. Dale Roland Bentley was born to Roland and Karen (Manning) Bentley on November 28, 1968 in Mahnomen. Dale grew up in the Waubun area and furthered his education at Moorhead State University in Moorhead.
