WHITE EARTH, MINN. — On Friday, Nov. 24 at about 8:56 a.m., an officer with the White Earth Police Department attempted to make a traffic stop on Becker County Road 21 south of White Earth when the suspect sped off while the officer was approaching the stopped vehicle. The pursuit ended roughly six miles east of White Earth when the driver stopped the vehicle and run into the woods.
Parker Eastman, a 15-year-old Detroit Lakes teen who went missing back in August has now been located, according to a post made on a Reaching Parker Facebook page about three hours ago. "Parker has been located safe and sound!" reads the post. "That is all I know at this point, so please do not ask details as I don't know them myself."

Daggett Truck Line, Inc. is saying a big congrats to company driver, Bryan Kroll, who recently received an award for driving one million miles without an accident. The award was presented by Daggett Truck Line's insurance company, Great West Casualty. Kroll began driving for Daggett Truck Line in July 2010, and he drives out of the Clearwater, Minn. terminal. While Kroll isn't on the road, he enjoys mule deer hunting in Colorado. He raises mules at home and enjoys trail riding with them. He also enjoys repairing and restoring tractors.
Tuesday, Nov. 14 At 10:09 a.m. a caller reported a burglary on the 31000 block of East Round Lake Road in Ponsford where binoculars and two LED flashlights were reportedly stolen, and candy wrappers and a glove were left by the alleged thief. At 11:51 a.m. a caller reported interrupting a burglary in progress at a store on County Highway 35 in Mahnomen.
Average retail gasoline prices in Minnesota have fallen 4.2 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.48/gallon yesterday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 2,856 gas outlets in Minnesota. This compares with the national average that has fallen 2.6 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.54/g, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation received national honors Wednesday, Nov. 15, for the success of its "Implementation of Data Driven Safety Solutions" program to reduce fatal crashes on county roads. Minnesota was one of nine states to receive the prestigious 2017 National Roadway Safety Award, a biannual awards program sponsored jointly by the Roadway Safety Foundation and the Federal Highway Administration.
Physician Assistant Garrett Penton has joined the Family Medicine Department at the Essentia Health St. Mary's — Detroit Lakes Clinic in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. "Working in family medicine provides a way for me to impact the lives of many patients," says Penton. "I enjoy the team environment and working toward a common goal." Penton earned a master's degree in physician assistant's studies from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Three area people were injured in a one-vehicle crash along the 32000 block of Highway 26 in the early hours of Nov. 21. According to a press release from the Becker County Sheriff's Office, at approximately 2:10 a.m., a 911 call came in reporting the crash, which occurred when the Ford Taurus, carrying three people, left the roadway and crashed into trees along the highway. The crash caused the driver, Candace Roberts, 28, of Ponsford, to become trapped. Roberts had to be extracted from the vehicle by the Detroit Lakes Fire Department Rescue 1.
