Fan bus for boys' hockey set An adult fan bus is scheduled to leave for the Detroit Lakes boys' hockey Section 8-1A quarterfinal game against Crookston in Warroad Friday. The bus will leave at 1:30 p.m. Friday from Kent Freeman Arena. The game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. in Warroad. Game tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students. DL girls' basketball game rescheduled The DL girls' basketball game which was originally scheduled for last Friday, but was postponed, will be played Saturday, Feb.
Minnesota Environmental Partnership, the statewide coalition of 90 nonprofit conservation and environmental organizations, has selected conservation veteran Steve Morse as its second executive director. Morse has been a member of MEP's Board of Directors since 2003 and was named MEP interim director in January 2006. Morse's 20-plus-year public service career has spanned elected office, appointment as Minnesota Department of Natural Resources deputy commissioner, academia and volunteer conservation leadership positions.
Dale Good has been named executive director for CriMNet, a statewide initiative to connect 1,100 police departments, sheriff's offices, jails, prosecutors, probation agencies, and other criminal justice agencies so they can share critical justice information electronically. Good was previously the deputy director for the CriMNet Program, a position he assumed in November 2004. Prior to returning to the state, Good was the director of justice information technology services at the SEARCH Group.

Rep. Jim Knoblach (R-St. Cloud) introduced legislation Feb. 16 to resolve the clean water stalemate that threatens to hobble city economic development efforts throughout Minnesota. The bill is part of bipartisan effort by Knoblach Sen. Tom Bakk (DFL-Cook) and the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities to help the state meet federal clean water requirements and ensure that new environmental mandates are both cost effective and based on sound science. The Detroit Lakes boys' junior varsity team finished its season with a 12-5 record. The Lakers hit their peak when they beat Thief River Falls 6-4 in TRF Feb. 11. The team was head coached by Derrick Haaland.
