Wendell E. Shaw, 60, of Frazee, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 29, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 1 in the Frazee United Methodist Church, with Pastor Gary Klempke officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be made in Lakeside Cemetery, Frazee. A lunch will be hosted following the service for all to attend. Former Richville area resident Kenneth E. Smith, 75, of Lake Marion, Minn., died Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Sanford Health in Fargo. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31 with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at Schoeneberger Funeral Home in Perham, continuing for one hour prior to Thursday's services at the church. Funeral services are set for 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1 at the United Methodist Church in Richville, with burial to follow in the village cemetery. Pastor Rod Tornquist will officiate. Jan. 21, 1939-June 19, 2011 Former Detroit Lakes resident Diane Maitland, 72, of St. George, Utah, died Sunday, June 19, 2011 in Utah. Diane Maitland was born to Walter and Jonette (Hopstead) Hage on January 21, 1939 in Detroit Lakes. She grew up in Detroit Lakes and graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1957.
Sister Roland Hauber, OSB, 90, died Wednesday, August 24, at Riverview Hospital in Crookston. Visitation will be at Mount Saint Benedict Monastery Chapel, 620 Summit Ave., Crookston, Monday, Aug. 29, beginning at 5 p.m., with a wake service at 7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30 in Mount Saint Benedict. Dec. 18, 1929-Aug. 15, 2011 Herbert P. Beug, 81, of Detroit Lakes died Monday August 15, 2011 at Golden Manor Assisted Living in Detroit Lakes. Herb was born to Paul and Elsie (Peterson) Beug on December 18, 1929 in Detroit Lakes. He grew up and attended school there until 1943, when the family moved to Luverne, Minn., where his father purchased the Coast to Coast Hardware Store. He worked in the store and attended school, graduating from Luverne High School in 1947.

A graveside service is set for 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27 in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Detroit Lakes, followed by a luncheon at Zorbaz in Detroit Lakes. Arrangements have been entrusted to Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo.
Sept. 5, 1927-Aug. 23, 2011 Etheldra "Tillie" Bart, 83, of Detroit Lakes died Monday, August 23, 2011 at Sanford Health in Fargo. Etheldra Bart was born to Fred and Mae (Gettis) Reed on September 5, 1927 in Mankato, Minn. The family moved to Frazee, where Tillie grew up and attended school, graduating from Frazee High School. In 1947 she was united in marriage to Robert Osterman in Frazee. They made their home and raised ten children there. In 1990 she was united in marriage to Gordon Bart in Frazee.

Oct. 9, 1938-Aug. 18, 2011 Former Lake Park resident Kay J. Hetler, 72, of Maddock, N.D., died Thursday, August 18, 2011, at St. Aloisius Medical Center in Harvey, N.D. Funeral services are set for 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25 at Zion Lutheran Brethren Church in Maddock, with Pastors Lu Mathison, Dale Robbins and Paul McKibbon officiating. Mickey Okeson will be reading the scriptures. Visitation will be Thursday at the church from 11 a.m. until the start of services. Burial will be in the Hesper Cemetery at Hesper, N.D.
