Sept. 4, 1933-Feb. 4, 2010 Former Moorhead resident Patricia M. Haglund, 76, of rural Lake Park, died Thursday, February 4, 2010 at her residence. Patricia Marlene Heisler was born to Raymond and Viola (Boss) Heisler on September 4, 1933 in Fargo, where she grew up and received her education. She then went to work as an operator for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Fargo, where she met her future husband. On June 27, 1953 Patricia was united in marriage to Lawrence A. Haglund. They made their home in Fargo.
April 6, 1914-Feb. 8, 2010 Agnes "Tootsie" Schulstad, 95, of Sauk Rapids, died Monday, February 8, 2010 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Funeral services celebrating Agnes's life will be 11 a.m. Friday, February 12 at Eksjo Lutheran Church in Lake Park. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home in St. Cloud and again after 10 a.m. Friday at the church in Lake Park. Lutheran prayers will be 7 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home in St.
March 8, 1938-Feb. 8, 2010 Nancy Auch, 71, of Bismarck, N.D., died Monday, February 8, 2010 at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck. A memorial service is set for 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. There will be no visitation. Nancy's wish was to have her body donated to the University of North Dakota School of Medicine. Nancy was born the daughter of James and Matilda (Knoll) Miller on March 8, 1938, in Bismarck. Her father passed away when she was in infancy, and her mother married Ivar Nelson.
Former Cleveland, Ohio resident Lillian R. Walker, 96, of Detroit Lakes, died Monday, January 18, 2010 at Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes. A memorial service is set for 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13 at the Oak Crossing Chapel in Detroit Lakes, with Chaplain Tim Cook officiating. There will be visitation for one hour prior to services. West-Kjos Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes is providing arrangements.
Former Harvey, N.D., resident Jessie Paulson, 96, of Detroit Lakes, died Friday, February 5, 2010 at Diamond Willow Assisted Living Center, Detroit Lakes. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12 in Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey. Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13 at First Lutheran Church, Harvey.
Sept. 30, 1921-Feb. 4, 2010 Donald R. Britton, 88, of Detroit Lakes, died Thursday, February 4, 2010 at his home. Don was born the son of Harry and Edna (Peck) Britton on September 30, 1921, in Detroit Lakes. He was educated in Detroit Lakes and attended agriculture school in Crookston, Minn. As a young man, Don was in the Civilian Conservation Corps and later enlisted in the United States Navy, serving on the U.S.S. Salt Lake City.
Jan. 28, 1986-Feb. 2, 2010 Jacob M. Braasch, 24, of River Falls., Wis., died Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at the River Falls Area Hospital. Jacob Michael Braasch was born the son of Lester and Terrie (Joy) Braasch on January 28, 1986in St. Paul. He was a graduate of River Falls High School.
July 21, 1918-Jan. 30, 2010 Melvin J. Stalberger was tired and went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 30, 2010 in Othello, Wash. Melvin was born to Joe and Mary Stalberger on July 21, 1918 in Beaulieu, Minn. He was their oldest son. He raised sheep at a young age, and farmed the rest of his years. He married Rose Meyer on October 17, 1944. They raised six children on the family dairy farm in rural Ogema. In 1978 he and Rose moved to Othello, Wash., and settled into semi-retirement years, working for a couple of farmers to pass the time.
March 20, 1915-Feb. 3, 2010 Elzada J. Brogren, 94, of Detroit Lakes, died Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes. Elzada was born the daughter of Oscar and Margrethe (Valtinson) Fagerlie on March 20, 1915 in Audubon. She was the second of nine children. Elzada was raised and educated in Audubon. As a teenager, she would ride the train to Detroit Lakes to work as a housekeeper for the Mox Olson residence and also go to the movie theater with her sisters. Elzada was united in marriage to Vernon Brogren on October 13, 1940 in Audubon.
March 9, 1929-Feb. 2, 2010 MayBell Bakke, 80, of Detroit Lakes, died Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, February 5, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at the David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes. Funeral services for MayBell will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 6 in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Franklin Lake, near Pelican Rapids, with the Reverend Jacob Burkman and Reverend Jim McBride officiating.
