EVERGREEN TOWNSHIP NOTICE OF ANNUAL MEETING & ELECTION OF OFFICERS The Annual Election of Town Officers and Annual Town Meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at the Town Hall. In case of inclement weather, the meeting and election will be held the third Tuesday in March. Polls will be open from 5-8 p.m. at which time the voters will elect: 1 Supervisor -- 3 year term 1 Clerk -- 2 year term The annual meeting will commence at 8:00 p.m. to conduct all necessary business. A 42-year-old rural Vergas man was arrested early Tuesday morning for shooting his 60-year-old neighbor in the arm during a dispute. Otter Tail County Sheriff's deputies arrested Gerhart Olag Quiram without incident about 4 a.m. near County Road 41, west of Vergas, after finding him in a wooded area with a handgun in his pocket. An Otter Tail Sheriff's Department spokesperson would not release the victim's name Tuesday night. -- The Forum
Wednesday, March 1 Fargo Film Festival opens The 6th Annual Fargo Film Festival opens at noon with registration and a press conference at the Fargo Theatre, the festival's main venue. First day highlights include a celebration of the 10th anniversary of the release of the festival's namesake movie, "Fargo," with a special 9 p.m. outdoor screening of the film on the north side of the Radisson hotel, with sound broadcast on 107.9 FM. Other opening night festivities, include the North Dakota premiere of the film "Sweetland" at 7 p.m. in the Fargo Theatre.
