June 12, 1941-Feb. 9, 2010 Vernon Edward "Ed" Bryngelson, 68, of Callaway, died Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at his residence, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Ed Bryngelson was born to Vernon and Emma "Peg" (Hazelton) Bryngelson on June 12, 1941 in rural Callaway. He attended Detroit Lakes High School and later, agricultural college in Crookston, Minn. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1959, and later served in the National Guard, retiring in 2000.
Julius "Sonny" Webster Jr., 73, of White Earth, died Saturday, February 6, 2010 at St. Mary's Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes. A wake will begin Wednesday, Feb. 10 at the Redby Community Center, and continues through Thursday, February 11. Interment will be at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Genevieve Brubaker, 85, of Dickinson, N.D., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 5, 2010 at St. Joseph's Hospital & Health Center, Dickinson. Private family graveside inurnment services, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, will take place later this spring at the Ogema Protestant Cemetery in Ogema. Genevieve is survived by her five children, Millard (Ann) Brubaker of Andover, Minn., Bruce (Arlene) Brubaker of West Fargo, Brian (Lynn) Brubaker of Ray, N.D., Gale (Larry) Graham of Dickinson and Perry (Cherri) Brubaker of Arvilla, N.D.
Sept. 4, 1933-Feb. 4, 2010 Former Moorhead resident Patricia M. Haglund, 76, of rural Lake Park, died Thursday, February 4, 2010 at her residence. Patricia Marlene Heisler was born to Raymond and Viola (Boss) Heisler on September 4, 1933 in Fargo, where she grew up and received her education. She then went to work as an operator for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Fargo, where she met her future husband. On June 27, 1953 Patricia was united in marriage to Lawrence A. Haglund. They made their home in Fargo.
April 6, 1914-Feb. 8, 2010 Agnes "Tootsie" Schulstad, 95, of Sauk Rapids, died Monday, February 8, 2010 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Funeral services celebrating Agnes's life will be 11 a.m. Friday, February 12 at Eksjo Lutheran Church in Lake Park. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home in St. Cloud and again after 10 a.m. Friday at the church in Lake Park. Lutheran prayers will be 7 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home in St.
March 8, 1938-Feb. 8, 2010 Nancy Auch, 71, of Bismarck, N.D., died Monday, February 8, 2010 at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck. A memorial service is set for 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. There will be no visitation. Nancy's wish was to have her body donated to the University of North Dakota School of Medicine. Nancy was born the daughter of James and Matilda (Knoll) Miller on March 8, 1938, in Bismarck. Her father passed away when she was in infancy, and her mother married Ivar Nelson.
Former Cleveland, Ohio resident Lillian R. Walker, 96, of Detroit Lakes, died Monday, January 18, 2010 at Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes. A memorial service is set for 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13 at the Oak Crossing Chapel in Detroit Lakes, with Chaplain Tim Cook officiating. There will be visitation for one hour prior to services. West-Kjos Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes is providing arrangements.
Former Harvey, N.D., resident Jessie Paulson, 96, of Detroit Lakes, died Friday, February 5, 2010 at Diamond Willow Assisted Living Center, Detroit Lakes. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12 in Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey. Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13 at First Lutheran Church, Harvey.
Sept. 30, 1921-Feb. 4, 2010 Donald R. Britton, 88, of Detroit Lakes, died Thursday, February 4, 2010 at his home. Don was born the son of Harry and Edna (Peck) Britton on September 30, 1921, in Detroit Lakes. He was educated in Detroit Lakes and attended agriculture school in Crookston, Minn. As a young man, Don was in the Civilian Conservation Corps and later enlisted in the United States Navy, serving on the U.S.S. Salt Lake City.
Jan. 28, 1986-Feb. 2, 2010 Jacob M. Braasch, 24, of River Falls., Wis., died Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at the River Falls Area Hospital. Jacob Michael Braasch was born the son of Lester and Terrie (Joy) Braasch on January 28, 1986in St. Paul. He was a graduate of River Falls High School.
