May 12, 1935-Feb. 15, 2013 Ronald "Ron" Berglund, 77, of Moorhead, died on Friday, February 15, 2013 at Essentia Health in Fargo. Ronald Peter Burton Berglund was born to Alfred and Blanche (Strum) Berglund on May 12, 1935 in Moorhead. He grew up at Comstock, Minn., and upon his graduation the family moved to Moorhead. Ron married Cheryl Lien on July 17, 1954 in Fargo. They lived in the Fargo-West Fargo area, as well as Grand Forks, before settling in Detroit Lakes, where they lived for 30 years. In 2007, they moved to Moorhead.
Linda L. Crete, 61, of rural Callaway, died Thursday, February 14, 2013 at her home, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. A private family service will be held at a later date. May 8, 1919 - Feb. 3, 2013 The funeral service for Dorothy Busker was held Thursday, Feb. 7 at St. John Lutheran Church in Wadena, with Pastor Stephen Meltzer presiding. Dorothy Irvena Busker, 93, passed away Sunday February 3, 2013, at Fair Oaks Lodge in Wadena, with her children at her side. Dorothy was born to William and Minnie (Preuss) Macklanburg on May 8, 1919 in Echo, Minn., where she grew up on the family farm. There she met her husband, Anton Henry "Tony" Busker, and they were married Feb. 11, 1935 in Otter Tail County. Dorothy and her family moved to Wadena in 1945.
In loving memory of LaRayne A. Steinke, who passed away peacefully at the age of 92 years on January 16, 2013 at Sunshine Village in Phoenix, Ariz. LaRayne spent many wonderful years in Detroit Lakes, but she spent her later years in sunny Arizona. She is survived by her son Patrick, her grand-children Michael Steinke, Christopher (Amy) Steinke, and Erika (Mike) Daly, and her great-grandchildren, Sam and Peyton Daly, as well as many other friends and family. Preceding her in death were her husband, Willard and her son, Michael.
Aug. 10, 1914-Feb. 9, 2013 Ruth K. Lind, 98, of Detroit Lakes, died Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Detroit Lakes. Ruth Kathrine Lind was born to George and Hattie (Stoner) Bantz on August 10, 1914 in Out-look, Mont. As a young girl she moved to Detroit Lakes, where she re-ceived her education, graduating from Detroit Lakes High School. She was united in mar-riage to Lloyd Lind on December 3, 1949 in De-troit Lakes. They made their home in Detroit Lakes.
Stella Larson, 94, of Ulen, died Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Viking Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Ulen, with visitation for one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the Anderson Funeral Home, Twin Valley.
Oct. 26, 1971-Feb. 6, 2013 Kevin S. DuFrane, 41, of Detroit Lakes, died Wednesday, February 6, at Sanford Health in Far-go. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15 at Grace Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes, with Pastor Rob Nelson officiating. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church on Friday. Kevin Scott DuFrane was born to Alfred and Arlis (Lee) DuFrane on October 26, 1971 in Baldwin, Wis. He was raised and educated in Cottage Grove, graduating from Park Senior High School in 1990.
Feb. 7, 1911-Feb. 9, 2013 Alice G. Rislund, 102, of Detroit Lakes, died Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Essentia Health-Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes. Alice Gerda Rislund was born to Anton and Olivia (Arneson) Pederson on February 7, 1911 in Lake Eunice Township. She received her education at the District 78 Country School in Lake Eunice Township. On April 20, 1929 she was united in marriage to Richard M. Rislund. In 1932 they built the Lake Center Store in rural Audubon. They owned and operated the store until October of 1961.
March 3, 2006-Feb. 3, 2013 Lydia Faith Sanderson, daughter of Derrick and Annette (Jokela) Sanderson, was born March 3, 2006 and passed away Saturday, February 3, 2013 at home. Lydia was diagnosed with brain cancer at the age of 8 months; she fought a long battle. This awesome girl touched the lives of many. She attended the Park Rapids Century Elementary School, a kindergartener, until just weeks before she went to be with Jesus. Her love of people and country music was well known.
March 12, 1962-Feb. 3, 2013 Former Frazee resident Kerry J. Wallace, 50, of Detroit Lakes, died Sunday, February 3, 2013 at his parents' home, under the care of his loving family, his fiancé Diane, and Hospice of the Red River Valley. A visitation is set from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at the David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes. Interment will be in St. Mary of the Lakes Cemetery in rural Pelican Rapids. Kerry James Wallace was born to Kenneth and Betty (Rasmussen) Wallace on March 12, 1962 in Detroit Lakes.
