Arlin Johnson, 71, of Pelican Rapids, died Friday, November 6, 2009, in Detroit Lakes. Funeral services are set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids, with visitation for one hour prior to services. Larson Funeral Home in Pelican Rapids is providing arrangements.
Linda Susan Fistler, 51, Detroit lakes, MN, died Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at St. Mary's Innovis Health in Detroit Lakes. A Memorial Service for Linda will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 9, in First Lutheran Church of Detroit Lakes with Reverend Wade Dutton officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Linda Susan Anderson was born September 21, 1958, in Detroit Lakes to Harold M. and Evelyn C. (Gilbertson) Anderson. She was raised in Detroit Lakes and was a graduate of Detroit Lakes High School in 1976.
Feb. 21, 1934-Nov. 2, 2009 Marjorie A. Danielson, 75, of rural Detroit Lakes, died Monday, November 2, 2009 at her home, under care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. The funeral is set for 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at Lake Eunice Evangelical Free Church, rural Detroit Lakes, with the Rev. Dale Robins officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Friday at the church. Marjorie Adele Danielson was born to Raymond E. and Beada (Dorff) Nelson on Feb. 21, 1934 in Audubon. She was raised and educated in Detroit Lakes and confirmed at Lake Eunice Evangelical Free Church.
Sept. 5, 1923-Nov. 1, 2009 Edward R. Layland, 86, of Detroit Lakes, died Sunday, November 1, 2009 at the Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes. Edward Richard Lay-land was born to Charles and Belle (Raynard) Lay-land on Sept. 5, 1923 in LaCrosse, Wis. He grew up and attended school in LaCrosse. He then val-iantly served his country during World War II, in the 4th Marine Raiders. He received numerous medals and commenda-tions. On July 1, 1946 he was united in marriage to Rita Brasda. They made their home in LaCrescent, Minn., and Edward worked as a carpenter.
Oct. 9, 1919-Oct. 31, 2009 Paul F. Boyer, 90, of Audubon, died Saturday, October 31, 2009 at the Golden Living Center on Otter Tail Lake, near Battle Lake. A mass of Christian burial for Paul will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Detroit Lakes. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service, at the David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes. It will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Paul Ferdinand Boyer was born to John and Ingeborg (Arness) Boyer on Oct.
Alex R. McKenzie, 56, of Mahnomen, died Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Innovis Health Systems in Fargo. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, at the Sports Complex in Naytahwaush, Minn. Visitation began at 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2 in the Naytahwaush Sports Complex, and continued until the start of Tuesday's services, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Monday. Arrangements were entrusted to Anderson-Mattson Funeral Home of Mahnomen and Winger, Minn.
Paul "Jerry" Ingebrightson, 83, of Waubun, died Sunday, November 1, 2009 at MeritCare Health Systems in Fargo. Visitation will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, with a prayer service beginning at 6:30 p.m., in Anderson-Mattson Funeral Home, Mahnomen. A memorial service is set for 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at Lake Grove Lutheran Church, rural Waubun, with additional seating and a live video feed at the Waubun Community Center. Inurnment will be in Lake Grove Lutheran Cemetery, rural Waubun. Arrangements are being provided by Anderson-Mattson Funeral Home of Mahnomen.
Oct. 22, 1941-Oct. 24, 2009 Michael P. Largo-Sgro, 68, Detroit Lakes, died Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, in MeritCare Hospital of Fargo, N.D. Michael was born to Pasquale and Mary (Frischia) Sgro on Oct. 22, 1941 in Manhattan, N.Y., where he was raised and educated. In 1965, Mike moved to California and worked at Piece O'Pizza. He later took a job managing House of Pies, a restaurant in Beverley Hills. On Sept. 25, 1968, he married Charlotte Crowell in Las Vegas, Nev.
Henry O. "Hank" "Ole" Olson, 72, of Apple Valley, Minn., died Monday, October 26, 2009 at the University Good Samaritan Specialty Center. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31 at First Lutheran Church in Audubon, with visitation for one hour prior. Interment will be at Strandvik Lutheran Cemetery, rural Lake Park. There will also be a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3 in the University Good Samaritan Specialty Center, 22 27th Ave. SE, Minneapolis.
Feb. 14, 1937-Oct. 27, 2009 Charles U. Senn, 72, of Detroit Lakes died Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at Innovis Hospital in Fargo. Charles Ulrich Senn was born to Clarence and Alice (Olson) Senn on Feb. 14, 1937 in Pelican Rapids, where he grew up and attended school in Pelican Rapids, graduating from Pelican Rapids High School. Chuck installed carpeting and flooring, and also did carpentry work in the Pelican Rapids area and later in Fertile, Minn. In 1974, he moved to Detroit Lakes, where he worked for Detroit Paint and Glass for 18 years, before retiring due to poor health.
