David Stowman and Jeff Stowman of the Stowman Law Firm in Detroit Lakes have been named on the Minnesota Super Lawyers list of top attorneys in Minnesota for 2016 in the area of plaintiff's personal injury work. Super Lawyers is an annual rating service of outstanding lawyers in more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. No more than 5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected to receive this honor.
Dr. Darryl Beehler has joined the urgent care department at the Essentia Health St. Mary's-Detroit Lakes Clinic. Dr. Beehler will also care for patients in the emergency department at Essentia Health St. Mary's.
Trevor A. Adams, Frazee, received highest honors from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point for academic achievement during the 2016 fall semester. Full-time undergraduates who earned grade points of 3.90 to 4.0 (4.0 equals straight A) are given the highest honors designation; high honors are given to those with GPAs between 3.75-3.89; and honor recognition is accorded to those with GPAs between 3.50-3.74. The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point honored more than 2,480 undergraduate students for attaining high grade point averages during the fall semester.

Applications are being accepted for the title of 2017 Miss Pre-Teen Becker County and are available to girls ages 9 to 12 years old. Miss Pre-Teen Becker County will represent her county at the Miss Pre-Teen Minnesota pageant, which will be held at the Wellstone Center in St. Paul on April 29.
The Lakeland Mental Health Clinic (LMHC) board of directors has named Donna Baker as LMHC's new Interim CEO. Baker has been with LMHC since 1988. Her roles at LMHC included positions as a mental health practitioner, supervisor, and her current position as the care management director and regional operating officer.
