Bryan Schoenberger of Modern Living Concepts Custom Homes received "The Builder of the Year" award from the Lakes Region Builder Association (LRBA) of Detroit Lakes for his contribution to the community and to the Builders Association in 2016. The award is voted on by the Builders Association Members and given to a peer for their work in the Association and Community.
T.S. Dock & Lift Service of Detroit Lakes has recently been awarded the Shore-Master Dealer award for Outstanding sales and service. Shore-Master Gave these awards to their top 30 dealers in the United States and Canada with T.S. Dock and Lift Being one of those dealers. This is the third time that T.S. County Highway 21, smack dab between cross streets Whiskey Creek Drive and 235th Street, is where a lone driver, heading south towards Detroit Lakes, ran off the road, bouncing over a driveway and rolling before landing in a wooded area, at approximately 10:30 a.m. this morning. One witness to the accident, who was traveling in front of the car that ran off the road, said she saw the driver in her rearview mirror. She said he was talking on his phone before she saw, what she believed, was him over correcting and then bouncing into the ditch.
ST. PAUL, MN — In recognition of the Month of the Military Child and National Poetry Month in April, U.S. Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) announced that he is hosting his sixth annual poetry contest for Minnesota students. The theme of this year's contest is "Celebrating the Veteran in My Life." "There are thousands of students all across Minnesota who have seen or experienced the sacrifices veterans and their families have made for our country," Sen. Franken said. "Some of them are children of current service members, while others know men and women who have served.
