FARGO – Police here are investigating the death of a 21-year-old Fargo man after he was discovered unresponsive in the downstairs bathroom of a local bar. Lt. Joel Vettel said at 11:19 p.m.
ADA, Minn. – A 25-year-old Dilworth man pleaded guilty this morning to a charge of second-degree murder connected to the death of his girlfriend’s 22-month-old baby girl. Raul Perez admitted in a plea hearing in Norman County District Court that he caused the death of Ariel Reyes on Aug.
BEMIDJI TOWNSHIP -- No injuries were reported in a mobile home fire Sunday evening in Bemidji Township, officials said. The Bemidji Fire Department responded to the fire in the 1200 block of Little Norway Avenue SE at about 11:45 p.m. Sunday. The fire was reported by a passing motorist. When firefighters arrived, the rear portion of the mobile home was fully engulfed by flames, officials said. A total of 17 firefighters used two fire engines and two water tenders to extinguish the fire. All the occupants of the home escaped from the fire and no injuries were reported.

HAWLEY, Minn. – A 15-year-old female is dead after a fire engulfed a home here early Sunday morning. Firefighters responded to the fire at 702 6th St. around 1:40 a.m. Sunday, said Hawley Mayor Gary E. Johnson. Johnson is also part of Hawley’s rescue squad. By the time he arrived on scene, the house was fully aflame. Johnson said he could feel the heat through his car windows, describing it as an “inferno.” The deceased girl’s mother and two siblings were able to escape from the house, Johnson said.
MOORHEAD — A Winnipeg man faces criminal charges in Clay County court after prosecutors accused him of driving here from Canada to have sex with a 15-year-old West Fargo, N.D., girl who was reported by her mother as a runaway. Samuel Juliann Viviezca Seneres, 27, was charged Thursday with two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, a felony. According to a police report, the girl’s mother contacted West Fargo police Feb. 28 to report her daughter missing.
MINOT, N.D. – An anti-abortion group is taking heat for handing out small toy fetuses during the parade at this year’s North Dakota State Fair in Minot. North Dakota Right to Life and other local chapters have since stopped passing out the dolls, fair General Manager Renee Korslein said.
Itasca County authorities say the death of a woman found in her Deer River home on Wednesday has been ruled a homicide. Sonya Ann Smith, 43, died “as a result of multiple traumatic injuries due to assault,” the Itasca County Sheriff’s Office reported Friday.
