Football scheduling is not the only thing on the Minnesota State High School League’s mind with the construction of the new Minnesota Vikings stadium. Things may not only get chilly for football fans with the Prep Bowl moving from the Metrodome to TCF Bank Stadium in 2014 and 2015, but for girls and boys soccer fans as well. In our household, salads are pretty much a staple of the evening meal during the summer months. But both Hubby Bryan and I get easily bored with a repetitive side dish, so we try to mix it up with an array of available add-ins. So what constitutes a topping?
GRAND FORKS, N.D.
Days before the trial was to begin, a Grand Forks prosecutor on Monday dropped charges against a man accused of sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl, saying “she was too traumatized” to testify. Otter Tail County Sheriff Kelly Shannon said deputies responded to 329 calls for service from Wednesday to Sunday morning, a weekend when more than 50,000 concertgoers flocked to Soo Pass Ranch for the 31st annual weekend of outdoor concerts and camping. During that time, 63 people were arrested on various charges by deputies, Detroit Lakes police and the Minnesota State Patrol. Of those arrested, 18 landed in ja
DULUTH, Minn. – What Constance Cowan remembers about her brother, Jimmy, is that he had a challenged upbringing. She was 4 and he was 9 when their mother died in childbirth. Connie went to live with relatives while Jimmy stayed with his dad on a farm near Windom, in southern Minnesota.
Sixteen-year-old Parker Hanson knew around first or second grade there was something different about him. “People started asking me what happened,” Hanson – a soon-to-be Hawley High School junior – said. “I had to explain it.
Carrie Underwood traveled a long way to headline the final night at WE Fest, but not as far as one Vining, Minn., woman. Karen Nyberg, who grew up an hour south of the Soo Pass Ranch, introduced the star from the International Space Station, high above the earth. Underwood then hit the stage in a denim shirt, jeans and cowboy boots to “Good Girl." After two days of testosterockin’ country, Saturday was for the ladies at WE Fest, with a charismatic show from Kellie Pickler earlier in the afternoon. “Where are my ‘Tough’ country girls at?” s
