MANKATO, Minn. — One person died and three others were injured in a shooting early Easter Sunday outside a Mankato events center. Mankato police were called at 1:53 a.m. Sunday to the Kato Entertainment Center, which hosts receptions and other private parties. Police found four people had been shot. The names of the shooting victims had not been released. Police said those wounded by gunfire sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a Mankato hospital. A man, Kim Tong Yik Doluony, 21, was arrested for carrying a pistol without a permit.
PARK RAPIDS, Minn. - A suspect has been charged in connection with a case of animal abuse after authorities discovered two horses that starved to death tied to trees east of Park Rapids in northern Minnesota. Minden Ann Crenshaw, 28, faces three counts of mistreating animals, each punishable by a maximum of two years in prison and a $5,000 fine if convicted. The counts include depriving the horses of food and water, abandonment and cruelty.
PILLAGER, Minn. — A 38-year-old Watkins woman was killed in a three-vehicle crash reported about 2 p.m. Sunday along State Highway 64 in Cass County. According to the State Patrol, Jackie Boulton was a passenger in a 1997 Ford Ranger pickup driven by Michael Boulton, 35, of Watkins. The pickup was struck head-on by a 2005 Ford pickup driven by Jeffrey Grose, 43, of Shoreview. Grose’s vehicle also struck a 2011 Chevy pickup driven by Daron Butzlaff, 48, of St. Cloud.

RENVILLE, Minn. –– Seven people, including five teens, were injured Wednesday when a truck collided with a school bus on an icy road near Renville in west-central Minnesota. None of the injuries were life-threatening. The Minnesota State Patrol said the accident on Minnesota Highway 212 happened at 6 p.m. when a tractor-trailer driven by David R. Littlecreek-Wilbanks, 50, of Granite Falls, broadsided a school bus driven by Dennis M. Isaackson, 56, of Cottonwood.
