FARGO – A Fargo man was sentenced to one year, three months and three weeks in prison after pleading guilty to accusations he attacked a woman and trapped her in a bathroom here. Jason A. Mayse, 38, pleaded guilty to one count of felony Class C criminal trespass and one count of Class A misdemeanor domestic assault in the July 24 incident. Police said at the time the woman had been in a relationship with Mayse prior to the attack, and officers were forced to use a Taser on Mayse to subdue him.

THIEF RIVER FALLS — The extortion trial of Gerald Sunsdahl, 52, began Monday with jury selection. He is accused of sending a former neighbor a crude hand-written letter threatening to kill the man and his family unless the neighbor delivered $500,000 in cash. Sunsdahl faces a charge of attempted coercion and two charges of making terroristic threats, each a felony with a maximum prison sentence of five years. He has pleaded not guilty.
FOSSTON, Minn. – Three businesses here were burglarized sometime late Sunday or early Monday. According to a release from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the Fosston Dairy Queen, Cenex Store and Fosston Tri-Coop were burglarized. In all three burglaries, suspects made off with an undetermined amount of cash and property after forcing their way into the businesses, the release stated. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has leads on the cases as it continues an investigation.
LEITH, N.D. – Authorities arrested white supremacists Craig Cobb and Kynan Dutton here Saturday after the men walked through streets carrying firearms in the small town they’re trying to turn into an all-white enclave.
