FARMINGTON, Minn. - A woman has been charged with malicious punishment of a child after she allegedly hit a 9-year-old girl for whom she was a caregiver six or seven times with a bamboo stick. Farmington police took the child abuse complaint Feb. 19. The girl told police that on Jan. 15 Alegra Devonia Davis had “whopped” her five or six times with the stick and told the girl not to tell anyone. The girl had been hit on both her arms and her legs. The girl told police Davis had gotten upset when she popped Davis’ air mattress bed.
FARMINGTON, Minn. -- A 17-year-old Farmington High School student has been charged with two misdemeanors and 15 other students have been referred to a diversionary program for their roles in a prank that left students crying and "freaking out" during the school's homecoming week. "This case appears to be a type of hazing incident associated with homecoming activities," Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom said.
