Frazee out at NW Sub-state tourney
Four Johnnies, including Brady Labine of Detroit Lakes, and the rest of the 2018 Saint John's University track and field team earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic recognition on Thursday, July 26.
The 2018 Minnesota State Amateur Baseball Tournament takes place August 17-19, August 24-26, and August 31-September 3. Sixty-four Class B & C teams from across Minnesota will be coming to the tournament host communities of New Prague, Shakopee and Jordan. This 95th Annual tournament has players and fans gathering in Scott County to share their love of the game of baseball, America’s “national pastime.”
Local students from Detroit Lakes Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (DLBJJ) competed in their first tournament Saturday, July 14 in Minneapolis. DLBJJ opened this past April under the direction of Professor Diego Da Costa. After only three months of training, students made their Jiu-Jitsu competition debut at Minnesota's Largest round robin BJJ Tournament,Grappling Industries-Minneapolis.

Nebraska's Kate Smith produced an impressive showing by tying for eighth at the 88th annual Women's Trans National Golf Association Amateur Championship at the Peach Tree Golf and Country Club in Maryville, Calif., July 9-13.

Frazee Post 15 improved to 5-3 in Legion baseball after a doubleheader sweep of New York Mills Tuesday, June 26 by scores of 4-2 and 5-3. Logan Wacker doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring Christian Weldon. Wacker led the Post 15 to victory on the hill. He surrendered two runs on five hits over seven innings, striking out nine and walking none.
