Tucker Hibbert extended his points lead in the ISOC National Snocross Championship at the Eastern National in Salamanca, New York. Hibbert was untouchable in qualifying and with points being awarded for qualifying rounds, he racked up valuable points despite going 13-2 in the final events.

Warroad is heading back to the Minnesota state Class A girls hockey tournament. The Warriors held off East Grand Forks Senior High 4-1 on Thursday night in the Section 8A title game. Warroad, the No. 1 seed in the section, improved to 22-3-2 while Senior High, the No. 3 seed, had its season end at 18-9-1.
In a meet featuring more than 1,700 athletes, North Dakota head coach Kevin Galbraith saw plenty of his own stand out this weekend at the South Dakota State Indoor Classic. Junior pole vaulter Kyley Foster broke her own school record, a pair of throwers captured event titles, and several other Fighting Hawks garnered top-10 finishes at the two-day competition.
The women's 4x400m relay team of Hannah Sankey, Delia Labatt, Erin Alpers, and AddieKay Johnson (Detroit Lakes) smashed the school record by running 3:55.50 on their way to the victory. That is the second best time in that event this year within NCAA Division III. "Those girls blew me away," says Head Coach Andrew Rock. "We knew they were fit, but I did not expect them to go that fast. Grinnell puts on a competitive meet and our ladies stepped up."
Driller Fights is back with three professional and eight amateur fights at No Mercy VII Saturday, Feb. 10 at Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen. It will be the second straight Mixed Martial Arts night of action-packed fights in Mahnomen. The inaugural show took place there September 30 and was completely sold out.
University of North Dakota junior pole vaulter Kyley Foster was named the Big Sky Conference Women’s Field Athlete of the Week on Monday for her record-breaking performance at Saturday’s UND Indoor Open.
Every new venture fills a void. The Minnesota High School Basketball Hall of Fame committee has exactly that in mind. High school basketball in the state recently celebrated its 100th anniversary, and now those who have made the game special will be honored and recognized.
Over 50 snowmobile enthusiasts took to the trails this past Saturday in ULTRA club’s Classic Cruise. Riding sleds built from the 1960’s to 2018 everyone enjoyed the warm weather, good food and the stories that go with riding and wrenching the vintage models. Sponsored by the ULTRA snowmobile club, and organized by Wayne Schlauderaff, the group met at the fairgrounds and rode the Vergas Trails.
Tucker Hibbert added another weekend sweep to his record book with dominant back-to-back wins in the pro finals at the ISOC National Snocross tour’s stop in Deadwood, SD. Knowing Hibbert’s history of jaw-dropping rides on the tight, rough track packed into the Days of ’76 Rodeo grounds, fans showed up in droves with the hope of seeing the 10-time champion put on a show.
