The Detroit Lakes boys swimming and diving team took seventh at the Section 5A true team meet on Saturday at Discovery Middle School in Alexandria.
Micah Barberg has a solid day for the Lakers. He took fourth place in the 100-yard backstroke (1:06.58) and sixth in the 100-yard freestyle (58.28). He also swam in the 400-yard freestyle relay with Ryan Erickson, Zane Roberts and Brian Morrison to a time of 4:13.93, which was good enough for eighth place.
The Lakers took seventh place with a team score of 376. Alexandria took first at 1,376, with Melrose-Sauk Centre (1,201) and Fergus Falls (780) in second and third.
The Lakers went to Bemidji and took third place at the Lumberjacks’ triangular on Friday night. The 200-yard medley relay team of Barberg, Erickson, Roberts and Morrison took second place at a time of 2:09.4.
Detroit Lakes won its first meet of the season on Tuesday night in a home triangular against Thief River Falls and Morris without a senior in the lineup. The Detroit Lakes Tribune did not receive results, nor were they posted on Meet Mobile following Tuesday’s win.
