Nurse Practitioner Anna Neu has joined the Emergency Medicine Department at Essentia Health St. Mary’s-Detroit Lakes.
“I love the close-knit community feel I get when I step into an Essentia facility,” says Neu. “The staff here are caring and extremely competent, with the overall goal of providing the best possible care.”
Neu earned a doctorate degree in nursing from the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She is certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
“I love the variety in emergency medicine. Each day is a new adventure that one can never predict,” says Neu. “Having a positive impact with patients and families during high-stress situations is very rewarding for me.”

Nurse Practitioner Carrie Ramsey has joined the Elder Care Department at the Essentia Health St. Mary’s-Detroit Lakes. Ramsey will also care for patients as part of the Hospitalist Team at Essentia Health- St. Mary’s Hospital in Detroit Lakes.
“I was born and raised in Detroit Lakes, and my family is deeply established in this community,” says Ramsey. “After working for four years at Essentia Health as a registered nurse, I am so happy to start my career as a nurse practitioner in my hometown and to contribute to the health and well-being of patients in this area.”
Ramsey earned a master’s degree in nursing from Concordia University in Mequon, Wisconsin. She is certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
“I have a true passion for medicine and I look forward to caring for patients in both the hospital and the clinic,” says Ramsey. “I really enjoy the challenge of sorting through a patient’s health history to determine a treatment plan that helps them to stay active and healthy.”
