Detroit Lakes-based Lakeshirts/Blue 84, which produces apparel, headwear and stickers for resorts and universities, has been accredited for its social compliance program by the Fair Labor Association, according to a news release.
The accreditation comes following an extensive review of the company's supply chain labor practices, according to the release.
Lakeshirts has been an FLA affiliate since 2010 and began its implementation period for FLA accreditation implementation in 2012.
The FLA report noted Lakeshirts' strengths:
• A corporate social responsibility committee.
• A comprehensive monitoring guidance outlines clear expectations for third-party auditors.
• Lakeshirts' method of ordering blank goods for embroidery and screen-printing in one centralized location encourages responsible purchasing practices.
• The company demonstrates engagement with employees at the U.S. factory owned by the company, and within Detroit Lakes.
