It’s all new at All in All… The Frazee convenience store and gas station is being torn down today in preparation for the opening of its new store tomorrow. The new All in All building is located right behind the old one where a pawn shop was once located. That was torn down, and earlier this summer construction began on the new store. And this much larger All in All is set up for quite an expansion. “We’ll have fountain pop, f’real ice cream, slushies, and a nice coffee bar,” said All in All Manager Pam Buhr, who says there will also be a lot more food items available. “We’re adding subs to our Hot Stuff Pizza, and we’ll have some open-air refrigeration that we can have fresh foods - fruit, sandwiches, carrots, yogurts… something for the healthy side,” said Buhr, pointing out an area within the seating is being set up for people to sit down and eat. “And we’ve also got a big, beautiful patio that faces the street so that people can eat outside when it’s nice,” she said adding that the patio is handicap accessible. The spacious layout will also allow for more room to bake fresh muffins and cookies, as well as offer a bigger variety of c-store products. “We went from having six cooler doors, to 15,” said Buhr. Expanded services mean expanded staff, as more employees have been added to fill the gaps. The store itself will be open for business Thursday morning, but work is still being completed on the outside.
Gas for All In All is temporarily being sold out of Sander’s gas pumps next to the Frazee Event Center while crews finish up with the new gas lines and pumps. Once the old building is demolished and cleared away, that process begins. It is expected to take roughly a month to get that area set up, but once it is, customers can expect a nice, wide open area for gassing up and parking. Not only will there be new gas pumps, but three additional pumps and a whole lot of space to quickly get in and out. “There’s just going to be so much more room out there instead of it being kind of congested like it was,” said Buhr. And a new amenity not just new to All in All, but to Frazee is a car wash that is being built onto the end of the facility. “That’s so exciting for the town - we don’t have a car wash, so everyone is excited about it,” said Buhr, who says that won’t be up and running yet for a few more weeks as more outside work is done. In the meantime, owner Katherine Carter and husband David are busy overseeing the transition of a business venture they’ve seen coming for quite a while. The Carters have owned All in All since the mid-1980s, and even then it was an older building. “We’ve renovated it probably five or six different times, but we’ve come to the point where you just can’t renovate it anymore,” said David Carter, adding that their investment into All in All goes deeper than just a new building. “We’ve been invested in the Frazee community for 25 years,” said David Carter. “Our daughter went to school here, and we felt like we had some decisions to make with the old place.” The Carters say the store has been fine over the years, but these days people want more - more room and more services. “And I think the way we’ve built this, it’s as nice as any c-store you’ll find in any larger community,” said Carter, as wife Kathy added that it was their own community that made the whole project possible. “The city of Frazee was so great to work with, and the people who’ve been working on the store have been great,” she said. The Carters say most of the work has been done by local contractors, down to nearly every last detail. “Hopefully the people of Frazee will be happy with what we’ve done here,” smiled David Carter. Once the store passes its health inspections, All in All is expected to open up Thursday around 10 a.m. After that, it will hold the same hours as before - 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week.
