Launch Minnesota, a new collaborative effort of the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development to accelerate startups and amplify Minnesota as a leader in innovation, is accepting applications for its Innovation Grants.

The grants are available for business working in the following categories:

  • Up to $35,000 for business operations including research and development, direct business expenses and technical assistance.
  • Up to $7,500 for housing or child care expenses.
  • Up to $50,000 for business awarded a Phase 2 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer award.

Businesses that are startups; started by women, veterans and/or people of color; and small businesses in greater Minnesota are given special consideration, the news release said.
