All of Lakeshirts' energy is now being purchased from renewable sources, like hydroelectric power, wind and solar, according to a news release.
Prior to Tuesday, March 11, more than half of the Detroit Lakes-based apparel and merchandise company's energy was from these renewable sources.
The change is made possible by the Bright Energy Choices program offered by Detroit Lakes Public Utilities, according to the release.
“Purchasing RECs (Renewable Energy Certificates) encourages the development of even more renewable resources, thus further benefiting the environment,” Lakeshirts co-CEO Mark Fritz said in the release. "We strongly encourage others to join us."
