Essentia Health is now offering virtual visits -- a video appointment directly between a provider and patient. The video appointments can be done in a patient's home via their own technology, like a computer, tablet or smartphone, according to a news release.

To create an appointment, patients will need a MyHealth account and the Zoom video meeting app. Appointments can be booked by calling a clinic appointment line, through the MyHealth website or the MyChart app. At the appointment time, patients will need to log onto the website or app and the visit will start, the release said.

Virtual visits will be covered the same way an in-person visit would be. The technology was planned to be introduced in the spring, but was fast-tracked because of the coronavirus, the release said.
